EDMbiz, one of the biggest gatherings of electronic dance music’s industry professionals, is right around the corner. The third annual conference will take place on June 17, 18, and 19 at The Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas, preceding the weekend of Electric Daisy Carnival. The initial list of speakers and panelists has been announced and includes a plethora of dance music’s most influential key players, both on the decks and behind the scenes. Above & Beyond and Hardwell are the first to be confirmed for the “EDMbiz Artist Panel”, which will be hosted for the third year by KCRW Music Director, Jason Bently. For two days, top executives and industry professionals from around the globe will participate in discussions on some of the music culture’s most relevant and significant issues. Some of the topics include talent representation and booking at “Meet the Windish Agency”, “The 6.2 Billion Dollar Business” on mergers, acquisitions, and investments, as well as “State ofthe Label: The Art of Selling Music”, and “Engaging the Electronic Music Listener”. “#20something” will focus on up-and-coming music execs and is set to be curated by Krewella’s manager, Jake Udell. 2014 also includes the expansion of the workshop as the première year for the EDMbiz expo, showcasing the music culture’s hottest music and lifestyle brands. This is shaping up to be a huge year for Insomniac’s EDM symposium, so stay tuned for the anticipated additions to the already stellar schedule.
