Gorillaz taking a 10 Year Hiatus from Touring

The frontman of Gorillaz, Damon Albarn, recently said that the band will be taking a break following back-to-back LP releases with 2017’s Humanz and 2018’s The Now Now. Albarn explained to the Toronto Sun that he and Gorillaz co-creator, Jamie Hewlett, plan on taking a break from the road to “even out” their recent two full-length studio albums, which were the first since their full-length project Plastic Beach in 2010. Albarn had the following to say:

“Since there wasn’t much time between these recent two records it’s probably going to be another 10 years.”

So it sounds like once the group’s current tour ends on October 24 in Mexico City, we may not see Gorillaz again for another decade.
