Sen. Scott Wiener long quest to extend alcohol sales to 4AM in California is close to fruition. Earlier today, the California Senate passed Wiener’s bill after being passed by the House yesterday. The bill now moves on to the governor’s desk to sign. Assuming he signs the bill, in 2021 select major cities in California at their choice can allow bars and clubs to sell alcohol until 4am!
Cities taking party are: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, West Hollywood, Long Beach, Palm Springs, Sacramento, Coachella and Cathedral City.
The Legislature just gave final approval to our bill allowing cities to extend last call to 4 a.m. The bill now heads to the Governor. We will make the case to the Governor that cities should be able to decide for themselves what kind of nightlife makes sense. pic.twitter.com/XZTdTUnRff
