Pioneer DJ Debuts The Powerhouse: XDJ-XS all-in-one DJ System

Pioneer DJ recently debuted its professional all-in-one DJ system, The Powerhouse: XDJ-XS. Pioneer is touting the system as being “perfect for every scenario,” including a private studio, events, a bar or small club. The new system has flexible media support and a layout based on Pioneer’s club-standard gear.

The XDJ-XS has two extra channels to play tracks from USB drives, connect a laptop or use Link Export mode to play tracks directly from your library, so there is no need to export playlists from your laptop to USB drives. The two extra channels allows djs to mix in audio from external sources like turntables, samplers, smartphones and more to channels 3 as well as 4. Pro DJ Link enables DJs to connect external equipment such as CDJs to channels 3 and 4. Pro DJ Link also allows DJs to browse tracks from CDJs on the 7-inch LCD touch screen on the XDJ-XS and sync them with the mix. A firmware update is expected soon to be compatible with the software so that DJs will be able to perform with Serato DJ Pro.

Other XDJ-XS features include 14 professional Beat FX, 6 Sound Color FX taken from the DJM-900NXS2 mixer, trigger software-specific features using the 16 multicolored Performance Pads (8 per deck), three USB inputs (type A x 2, type B x 1) make playing B2B and DJ changeovers easy, full-size jog wheels for mixing as well as scratching. With the On Jog Display feature, DJs can view track information like waveforms, Hot Cues and BPM from the color screen in the center of each jog wheel. The 3-band EQ on the master output optimizes sound for each environment. There are two separate mic inputs with independent 3-band EQs to give total flexibility. The Feedback Reducer automatically reduces any feedback sounds accidentally caused by the mic.

DJs need to update to the latest version of rekordbox dj, Pioneer’s performance application, and activate the included license key to use with the XDJ-XS. The Powerhouse also supports rekordbox dvs. The XDJ-XS is available now and retails for $2,299.
