Skrillex and Four Tet to Ring in New Year with Rare Open-to-Close Set at San Francisco’s Pier 80

Electronic music fans in the Bay Area have a reason to celebrate this holiday season. Grammy-winning producer Skrillex and British electronic pioneer Four Tet are joining forces for an unprecedented open-to-close performance at The Pier 80 Warehouse on December 30, offering a unique opportunity to experience two of dance music’s most innovative artists commanding the decks all night long.

A Meeting of Electronic Titans

The pairing represents a collision of two distinct yet complementary approaches to electronic music. Skrillex, whose aggressive dubstep productions revolutionized the genre in the early 2010s, has continuously evolved his sound to encompass elements of bass, house, and beyond. Four Tet (Kieran Hebden), brings his signature blend of experimental electronica, drawing from jazz, ambient, and techno to create deeply textured sonic landscapes.

Together, their open-to-close format promises an evening of musical exploration rarely seen in today’s multi-artist festival landscape. The format allows the duo complete creative freedom to build and release energy throughout the night, taking attendees on a journey without the constraints of a typical DJ set time slot.

Returning to Familiar Territory

Both artists have established deep connections with San Francisco’s Pier 80 venue. Skrillex headlined Portola Music Festival at the location in 2023, while Four Tet has delivered memorable closing sets at the same festival in both 2022 and 2024. Their return to the industrial waterfront space signals a homecoming of sorts, with the artists bringing their chemistry to a venue that has witnessed some of their most celebrated recent performances.

The venue will continue the celebration into New Year’s Eve, hosting Swedish House Mafia on December 29 and 31, making the pier the epicenter of San Francisco’s electronic music scene as 2025 turns to 2026.

Ticket Information

Fans can register for pre-sale access now, with the registry pre-sale launching Thursday, November 7 at 10 a.m. PT. General public tickets go on sale Friday, November 8 at 10 a.m. PT.

For electronic music enthusiasts looking to start their New Year’s celebrations with something truly special, this rare collaborative performance offers a chance to witness two masters of their craft in an intimate, extended format that showcases the full depth of their artistry.
