We had been told earlier this year by the owner of Giant, Dave Dean, of their impending return to San Diego market in the near future with the purchase of 4th and B (which closed due to the bankruptcy of the former operators). According to San Diego City Beat, the transfer of the liquor license for 4th and B is actually in the name of Avalon, where Dean’s long-running club night Giant is based out of in Hollywood at Avalon. So it appears as though this may be some sort of joint venture and/or partnership between Dean and Avalon’s John Lyons. Look for the club to open at the end of summer/early fall with an EDM-centric music booking policy.
