Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland pleads not guilty in court

Yesterday in Manhattan Federal Court, Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland plead not guilty to charges of wire fraud and making false statements to a bank.

As the charges were brought in a document known as “information,” this typically suggests a plea deal is in the works.

If convicted, McFarland would face up to 20 years in jail. Currently he stands as free on parole.
